Who We Are
CRONIMET is in the business of Stainless Steel Recycling and Specialised Sorting.
This involves collecting, processing and selling stainless steel scrap, as well as sorting and processing other metals and materials for recycling.
The CRONIMET Group, based in Karlsruhe, Germany, is a global leader in the recycling of stainless steel and also trades in ferro alloys and primary metals.
CRONIMET entered the South African market in 1995, with CRONIMET RSA (Pty) Ltd. The company grew rapidly over the following two years and quickly established itself as a major stainless steel scrap processer in South Africa.
In 1997, CRONIMET RSA acquired Tillmor, an already successful company specialising in the processing of stainless steel scrap. The operations moved from a humble yard in Wadeville to the company’s current location in Alrode on the East Rand, Gauteng.
That year also saw CRONIMET RSA open a coastal processing yard in Prospecton, KwaZulu-Natal. The addition of the yard in this region has been a valued extension to the company’s footprint.
In 2009 the KZN operation moved to Amanzimtoti, where it maintains a steady presence in the East Coast market.
CRONIMET RSA continues to grow and evolve, and we remain an important link in the recycling lifecycle of stainless steel as we strive towards a green and sustainable future.
