Testing and Analysis
At CRONIMET RSA, we make use of our specialised laboratory facilities for the testing and analysis of stainless steel to help determine quality and characteristics.
The majority of the testing we do centres around chemical analysis, which involves determining the chemical composition of the stainless steel, which includes the percentage of different elements such as chromium, nickel and carbon.
Chemical analysis is typically carried out using spectroscopic methods, such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF).

The majority of the testing we do centres around chemical analysis, which involves determining the chemical composition of the stainless steel, which includes the percentage of different elements such as chromium, nickel and carbon.
Chemical analysis is typically carried out using spectroscopic methods, such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).
Hand in hand with chemical analysis is mechanical testing, which involves evaluating the strength, hardness and ductility properties of the stainless steel, through tension tests, compression tests or hardness tests.
